Today I'm going to run through how you can use Airtable with Shareables to setup a Wall of Love section on your website. No coding required.
To make sure we're all on the same page, Wall of Loves are are a crucial component of any website. They provide a great looking way to present customer testimonials.
Testimonials are important because they build trust and credibility with potential customers. Hearing positive experiences from real users helps new visitors feel confident about the product or service. They act as social proof, showing that others have benefited from your product or service, which can reduce uncertainty and encourage decision-making. They also provide authentic, relatable perspectives that marketing content alone may not achieve. By highlighting different use cases and success stories, testimonials can address potential concerns and demonstrate value, ultimately influencing conversions and boosting sales.
When you're ready, scroll past the example to get started!
Start by creating an account on Shareables. If you haven't already, click here to sign up. The registration process is straightforward and free.
Once you've signed up, you'll land on the Shareables dashboard. If you haven't used Shareables before you will be prompted to choose a template to get started. For this tutorial we're going to use the Wall of Love Template. Click on the template then once the modal appear, click 'Use this template'
After the last step you will have been redirected to the template editor.
You will be greeted with a window to connect an existing Airtable Base or start fresh.
If you clicked, Start Fresh
You will be taken to a screen where you can copy one of our pre-built Airtable bases to your Airtable Workspace. These pre-built bases are designed to have all the fields you need and placeholder Airtable records to get started quicker.
Once you've copied the base to you workspace, press continue.
By now you should have an Airtable base ready that you want to connect to the Wall of Love template.
If you don't have a Personal Access Token, follow these steps:
- Click this link to create a Personal Access Token in Airtable
- Give your token a name, for this I'm calling mine FAQ section
- Add these scopes:
- schema.bases:read - Access to base structure
- user.email:read - User identification
- data.records:read - Read record data
- data.records:write - Create/update records
- data.records:manage - Bulk operations
- data.recordComments:read - Read comments
- data.recordComments:write - Create comments
- webhook:manage - Manage webhooks
- Add the base where your FAQ data is stored
- Once all of the above is done, hit Create Token and save your Personal Access Token somewhere safe (Warning this token will not be shown again by Airtable!)
- Continue on with the rest of the tutorial
Okay so now that we have our Personal Access Token saved, continue to the next step where you'll be prompted to save your access token to your template.
After a few seconds if your Personal Access Token is setup correctly you'll be prompted to now choose which Airtable Base you want to connect
Once you've chosen your Airtable base, select the table inside the base that you want to you.
This step is optional but if you would like more control over which records (and in what order) you want to use in template, you can filter and sort them from Airtable.
Once all of the above has been completed hit Connect!
One of the best features of Shareables is the ability to fully customize the appearance of your template. Adjust the colors, fonts, and layout to match your website’s branding. This ensures that your FAQ section feels like a seamless part of your site, rather than an out-of-place add-on.
You can also change the number of columns you want your Wall of Love to use. If you have a lot of records, a higher number of columns can make it easier to display them without making the template too long on your website.
After styling the template, the next step is to publish it. Shareables makes this process easy. Simply click the 'Publish' button, and your template will be ready to be installed as an iframe on your website. You'll be provided with a snippet of code that you can embed directly into your webpage.
Finally, take the iframe code provided by Shareables and insert it into the appropriate section of your website's HTML. Once installed, your Wall of Love section will be live, fully functional, and ready for your visitors to see.
Start building a better user experience with customizable templates and seamless Airtable integration!
